Primary 7
P7 information letter. Term 3 January to April 2025
Dear parents/ carers of P7 pupils,
Reflections from last term
Our weekly swimming lessons finished over at Breadalbane Academy with every single pupil moving up a level with their skills in the water, including swimming when fully clothed! We then immediately started our rehearsals for our Christmas show; Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. The children were given the script to work from and those that were successful in securing an acting role, were encouraged to adapt their part and add any extras that they wished. We had an excellent turnout on our two performance nights and all the pupils, without exception, enjoyed being part of the production.
The P7 party planning group organised a wonderful end of term gathering for Primary 6 and 7. Both classes joined together for the first half which was a ceilidh, followed by traditional party games for the second half.
This term
We will be working with Academy 9 to plan, design and build a sustainable road.
In literacy, we will be developing our talking skills of presenting our planned road to a wider audience. In addition, we will select a Scots poem and work with others to present and record our recitations.
In maths and numeracy, we will be learning about budgeting, times and shapes in the environment.
In Health and wellbeing, we will be exploring possible carers whilst reflecting on our present skills, achievements and abilities.
As well as studying the core subjects, we will continue to work with our secondary specialists in the art, music and PE department each week.
Our timetable remains the same and is as follows:
Timetable
Tuesday music (fortnightly).
Wednesday *PE (Mrs Leck) Gaelic (Miss McPhee).
Thursday art (Mr Maitland).
Friday assembly.
*Gym kit = white tee shirt, black shorts, clean trainers if inside or a change of shoes when outside.
What to bring to school: -
A pencil case stuffed with pencils, highlighters, feltips…
A coat as we try to go outside for breaks whenever possible.
A bottle of water.
A healthy play piece such as a piece of fruit as we’re trying to cut down on litter in the playground. ( I always have a tub of oatcakes for those that forget.)
A cushion to sit on in class.
If mobile ‘phones are brought to school they must be brought up to class until home time.

Primary 7 have been using their digital skills today to collaborate with each other on GLOW. They have been creating Power Points about keeping safe on the roads whether in a car on a bike. The Power Points will be shared with the upper primary in our assembly to spread the message about keeping safe.
Primary 7 have been learning how to do CPR on a dummy and place a friend into the recovery position as part of our health and safety lessons. These photos show the children in action.
Primary 7 worked together to create our class charter which is linked to our work on SHANARRI and our three school rules: Be safe, be respectful and be ready. The hands represent us all working together in class and in school.
Tuesday 10 September 2024
In French, Primary 7 were learning how to ask someone their name, age and where they live. They then wrote and illustrated a conversation between two fictional characters.
